Why would I need an ISA (Individual Savings Account)?

ISAs are tax efficient saving products meaning that you currently do not pay any taxes on the money that you earn or take out of an ISA. There is no income tax, capital gains tax or dividend tax to pay when you withdraw the money from the ISA wrapper. They are a great shelter* for your hard earned savings.

ISAs can give you a savings cushion for life's planned and unexpected happenings. These could include:

  • Emergencies

  • University

  • Hobbies

  • Home

  • Children

  • Holidays

  • Retirement

* If you choose to invest the money in your ISA, there's always an element of risk involved. The value of your ISA could go down as well as up and you may get back less than you put in.
